The Grey's Anatomy star appears in the new Transformers movie, which has broken box office records following its debut in the US. And Patrick must have machines on the mind, as he believes that science has become so advanced over the last two decades that it's only a matter of time before they take over.
“I think it’s going to be sooner than you think,” he remarked in an interview with Elle magazine when asked if robots will ever rule our planet. “Probably in the next 20 years – look how far we’ve come in the last 20.”
While Patrick appears interested in science, he insists all he ever wanted to be was an actor. He loves his chosen career and insists he has no plans to quit anytime soon, even if it is a tough industry.
“It’s a very difficult profession – you have to deal with rejection constantly,” he explained. “You have to learn not to take things personally and to keep improving yourself, but you need constructive criticism to grow. Also, I never qualified in anything else! At this point, I just don’t know what I would do.”
